Week of January 13, 2024: How to choose a practice administrator

In 1966, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman.” As we honor Dr. King's legacy in the ongoing fight for equality and justice, we are reminded of the healthcare disparities that still exist today. 

Independent practices have a unique opportunity to provide care to underserved communities, helping to advance Dr. King's vision of healthcare access for all. We recognize the providers working to address biases and obstacles that perpetuate inequality in healthcare outcomes, and finding ways to better serve vulnerable patient populations.

Tebra surveyed 1,146 patients to discover their perceptions of how independent practices compare to health systems and corporate-based practices. The results revealed that 51% of patients feel like they get better quality of care from independent practice providers.
