Dr. Zeitlin completed CUNY Brooklyn College’s prestigious coordinated BA-MD program. He earned his Medical Doctorate at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, also
located in Brooklyn, New York. He also completed his junior residency in surgery and urology residency at SUNY Downstate.
During his Urology residency, Dr. Zeitlin studied urologic oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After completing his residency he was a clinical fellow at the University of California Los Angeles Department of Urology. Since 1998, he’s taught at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and has gone from an instructor to Clinical Professor of Urology.
He’s been honored 3 times as the Clinical Faculty Member of the Year in the UCLA Department of Urology and received a Master Teacher in Urology Award from the SUNY-Downstate Alumni Association. In addition to teaching, he performed NIH-funded research at UCLA for over a decade.
Dr. Zeitlin’s colleagues have selected him to Super Doctors 14 years in a row. Los Angeles Magazine named him a “Top Doctor” in 2019. He currently belongs to the American Urologic Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and was previously on the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society’s board of directors. Kiavash Nikkhou, MD, a board-certified urologist practicing in Thousand Oaks, California. At his private practice, he is proud to provide comprehensive, high-quality care.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in physiological sciences and neuroscience. He graduated from Yale School of Medicine and completed his medical thesis on “Role of Active Surveillance in Small Renal Masses.”
Dr. Nikkhou is passionate about public health and decreasing health disparities. While at Yale, he provided free health care to the uninsured through HAVEN Free Clinic, performed surgery abroad in Zambia, completed the Connecticut Health Foundation Health Leadership Fellows Program, and was on the board of the Yale Latino Medical Association.
Dr. Nikkhou completed his surgery internship and residency in urology at the LAC + USC Medical Center. At USC, he trained and operated with some of the most world-renowned experts in laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery, open urologic oncology, endourology, and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
While Dr. Nikkhou enjoys all aspects of urology, he is particularly interested in improving his patients’ quality of life and shortening their time to recovery using minimally invasive techniques and robotic surgery. At his practice, he provides treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder cancer, elevated PSA, erectile dysfunction, hematuria, kidney stones, and low testosterone.
Throughout his education and training career, Dr. Nikkhou has been a strong patient advocate. He treats patients as a whole and not as a condition, and does everything he can to help patients heal.
Dr. Nikkhou is married and has two young children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling and the outdoors, cooking, and fitness. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi (Persian).
Kyle K. Himsl, MD is a board-certified urologist with nearly 30 years of professional experience. Located in Thousand Oaks, California, Dr. Himsl combines friendly, patient-centered care with the latest urological treatments for men and women in the Greater Los Angeles area. He specializes in the evaluation and management of cancers, infections, stones, and disorders that affect the genitoiurinary tract.
Following graduation from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, Dr. Himsl completed his internship and residency at Kaiser Permanente hospitals and a fellowship through the American College of Surgeons.
A firm believer in involving patients in their own care, Dr. Himsl makes sure they have the utmost in treatment information and education so they can make informed decisions about their health journey.
Since 1999, Dr. Himsl has been involved in the development of the Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital and was President of the Joint Operating Committee from 2005-2008. He has also served the medical community as Chair of Surgical Peer Review for Los Robles Hospital and Chairman of the Quality Care Committee at Los Robles Hospital. Currently, he is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Los Robles Hospital.
Away from his practice, Dr. Himsl loves spending time with his wife, Dr. Karie McMurray, and two children. He can frequently be found skiing in his home state of Colorado. An avid fan of community sports, Dr. Himsl is a head baseball coach for the Westlake Baseball Association and head softball coach for the Westlake Agoura Girls Softball Association.
