He is a urologic oncologist (surgeon) and urologist and works very closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other surgeons to treat tumors in a multi-disciplinary fashion. Our very experienced clinical team greatly assists in managing your care in comprehensive and compassionate care. We strive to offer novel and often aggressive treatments for patients with few other options. My patients are often approached to participate in clinical trials and other research studies so that we can improve cancer care for future patients. I prefer to use minimally invasive surgical techniques when possible and feel comfortable handling complex cancer cases that require larger incisions. Frank L. Tortora, MD, is a board-certified urologist at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina currently seeing patients at their Cary and Clayton offices.
Dr. Tortora is a nationally renowned developer of emerging urological techniques and treatments. He has helped develop many medical and surgical techniques to aid the treatment of male sexual dysfunction and also specializes in robotic surgery, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU).
One of the pioneer procedures he performs in the office is UroLift®, a minimally invasive approach to treating an enlarged prostate that doesn’t require cutting, heating, or removal of prostate tissue.
Dr. Tortora’s nearly four-decade career began as an undergraduate student at Yale University, where he graduated cum laude. He earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Tortora completed an internship and residency at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, where he currently serves as a clinical associate professor in the departments of surgery and family practice.

Dr. Andrew Chang joins AUNC after practicing urology for 7 years in the Washington DC area. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, after completing his residency in Urology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He has a particular interest and specializes in urethral reconstructive surgery, prosthetic surgery for severe erectile dysfunction, prosthetic surgery for male incontinence and Peyronie's disease. Dr. Chang has been designated as a Center of Excellence physician for the UroLift® procedure.
Dr. Chang loves to travel with his wife and daughter during his free time. He also enjoys running, mountain biking and fishing. He is a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Paige Hamilton, MD, is a dedicated urologist serving patients at Associated Urologists of North Carolina in the Cary and Clayton, North Carolina, offices. Dr. Hamilton joined the practice in 2023.

A graduate of Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dr. Hamilton discovered her passion for medicine during her undergraduate years. She then completed her Urology Residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut.

William S. Kizer, MD, is a highly trained urologist at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of their Cary and Dunn offices. Dr. Kizer is board-certified in urology and specializes in treating conditions like prostatitis, prostate cancer, kidney stones, overactive bladder, and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Kizer began his medical career at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology, graduating with honors. While he was at Baylor, he was an active member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honors Society. Dr. Kizer received his medical degree from the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Medical School, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He went on to serve in the U.S. Army, where he completed his postdoctoral training, beginning with a general surgery internship at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He rounded out his clinical training with a urology residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. During his residency, Dr. Kizer participated in a humanitarian surgical mission to Honduras.
In all, he served in the U.S. Army for more than a decade as an active duty urologist, completing his duty at the Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he was the chief of urology. During his years of service, Dr. Kizer was also active with the Society of Government Service Urologists. When he isn’t busy helping patients at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, Dr. Kizer is an active member of the American Urological Association.
Kevin P. Khoudary, MD, is a board-certified urologist at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina. Dr. Khoudary’s special interests include male infertility and impotence, erectile dysfunction, prostatitis, and minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Dr. Khoudary currently sees patients out of their Cary, Clayton, and Clinton offices.
Dr. Khoudary began his journey to his medical career as a student at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then continued on to the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio, to complete a urology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Akron City Hospital. Dr. Khoudary completed his postdoctoral training with a fellowship in male fertility and impotence at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston.

William Rawls, MD, MSCR, board-certified urologist and North Carolina native brings academic practice experience to Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of the Apex and Raleigh offices. Dr. Rawls graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston to receive his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Research. He further refined his skills through a general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining Associated Urologists of North Carolina, Dr. Rawls contributed significantly to the academic medical community while practicing at East Carolina University.
With a special focus on minimally invasive surgery, including robotic techniques, Dr. Rawls is passionate about enhancing patient outcomes and minimizing recovery times. Brian C. Bennett, MD, is an accomplished urologist who has been dedicated to compassionate patient care for more than three decades. Today he is a board-certified urologist at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, currently seeing patients out of their Cary and Raleigh offices.
He began his medical career as an undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, Dr. Bennett went on to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Bennett completed his postdoctoral clinical training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he first did an internship, followed by residencies in general surgery and urology.

Dr. Benevides began his professional education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he earned his undergraduate degree. The following year, Dr. Benevides enrolled in the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree there.

Seasoned urologist, John V. Kaspar, MD, brings more than 25 years of experience in urology and urologic surgery to the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of their Cary and Raleigh offices.
Dr. Kaspar was born and raised in the New York and New Jersey area. He began his professional education at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology. After graduation, Dr. Kaspar enrolled at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and received a master’s in microbiology. He subsequently attended Wake Forest University Medical School of Medicine and earned his Doctor of Medicine.
The next year, Dr. Kaspar completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Following his residency, Dr. Kaspar entered private practice, serving at Wayne Urological Associates in Goldsboro, North Carolina, for 14 years, before joining the Associated Urologists of North Carolina in 2011.
Dr. Kaspar practices general urology but specializes in female urology and incontinence. He was one of the first providers in North Carolina to offer InterStim therapy for overactive bladders and is also on the cutting-edge of other incontinence procedures. Additionally, Dr. Kaspar is one of only 125 urologists in the country with the subspecialty certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS).
Dr. Kaspar also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He was the first North Carolina-based physician to perform the UroLift® procedure in an office setting. Experienced urologist Emil M. Kheterpal, MD, brings more than a decade of experience in urologic oncology and robotic urology surgery to the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of their Raleigh and Wake Forest locations.
Dr. Kheterpal began his medical career in Massachusetts and obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Boston University. Dr. Kheterpal then completed a urology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and the Vattikuti Urology Institute, a world-renowned leader in robotics and robotic surgery in Detroit.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Kheterpal attended New York University to complete the Bruce Sherman fellowship in urologic oncology. There, Dr. Kheterpal was an early adopter of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the prostate for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Additionally, Dr. Kheterpal completed a brief fellowship at the Kulkarni Endosurgery Institute’s Center for Reconstructive Urology in Maharashtra, India.
Dr. Kheterpal subsequently worked in a large health care system in New York as Director of Urologic Oncology and Robotic Urology Surgery. After he met his wife, he moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and joined the team at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina.
Dr. Kheterpal specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer and regularly uses cutting-edge treatments — robotic surgery and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) robotic surgery. He is an expert at robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer as well as complex reconstructive surgeries. He enjoys caring for patients with general urology issues including kidney stones, low testosterone, benign prostate enlargement and is an expert at the urolift procedure.

Dr. Miyad Movassaghi is one of the newest additions to Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of the Wake Forest and Raleigh offices. Dr. Movassaghi has a particular interest in stone disease, robotic-assisted surgery for both benign urologic conditions and genitourinary cancers, minimally invasive surgery treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and prosthetic surgery for erectile dysfunction. Dr. Movassaghi completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University and went on to obtain a Master’s of Science in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Maine. Following his graduate studies, he completed medical school at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and then went on to complete a Urologic Surgery Residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York Presbyterian in New York, one of the top ranked urology programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Neighbors was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. He began his professional education at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. After graduation, Dr. Neighbors pursued training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Neighbors subsequently completed an internship in general surgery, also at the Medical College of Virginia.
The following year, Dr. Neighbors decided to further his postgraduate medical training by completing additional general surgery experience, followed by a residency in urology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
