He was elected Chief Resident during his last year. Dr. Shalot graduated with honors from the program in May 2023, specializing in forefoot surgery, rearfoot surgery, trauma, and ankle surgery.
During his time at NYCPM and Montefiore, Dr. Shalot has authored and co-authored articles and research publications, most focusing on his interest in the Role of anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL) repairs in Chronic Ankle Instability.
Dr. Shalot is certified in CPR and also served as a lifeguard. His interests include sports medicine, biomechanics of the foot and ankle, treating athletes, and assessing patients for orthotic therapy. He enjoys playing the guitar, working out, and swimming in his spare time.
Board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Mikhail A Botvinov, specializes in bariatric and general laparoscopic surgery. At Bergen Bariatric and Surgical Solutions in Westwood, New Jersey, he uses laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery to treat and address issues associated with obesity and other general surgery conditions.
With a dual medical education, Dr. Botvinov is both a medical doctor (MD) as well as a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO). He is experienced in advanced laparoscopic surgery, general surgery, and hernia surgery, and provides treatments for gallbladder issues. For patients who want to lose weight, he offers bariatric surgery, gastric sleeve procedures, and gastric band removal.
Dr. Botvinov completed his medical training at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow Institute of Medicine in Moscow, Russia, the oldest and one of the most prestigious medical universities in the country. He worked as a general surgeon at the Institute of Laser Surgery in Russia and earned a national patent for his work in converting a gastrointestinal device to a carbon dioxide laser.
Dr. Botvinov then relocated to the United States, where he completed his medical degree at The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed surgical training at Flushing Hospital and minimally invasive laparoscopic and bariatric training at Staten Island University Hospital, both in New York City. He is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Dr. Botvinov is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Student Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a candidate member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Elliott H. Rose is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery serving patients on a national and international level. Dr. Rose’s reputation in burn reconstruction and reanimation of the paralyzed face attracts patients from all over the world. Patients come to Dr. Rose because he is a leader in the field of Bell's Palsy Surgery, Facial Paralysis Surgery, Burn Reconstructive Surgery, and other types of aesthetic plastic surgery.
Dr. Rose's practice, The Aesthetic Surgery Center, is located in the Upper East Side of New York City. Dr. Rose earned his medical degree at the University of Texas, Galveston where he finished first in his class. He went on to complete at General Surgery Residency at UCLA Medical Center; a Plastic Surgery Residency at Stanford University Medical Center; and a Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Rose was voted by his peers as the Best Plastic Surgeon in New York City for "Corrective Facial Surgery” and has been consistently listed in the "New York Magazine Best Doctors" and "Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctors.” Dr. Rose is the author of a major plastic surgery textbook, Aesthetic Facial Restoration, published by Lippincott-Raven. Dr. Rose has also appeared on ABC’s “20/20” and “Good Morning America”, NBC’s “Today Show”, “Entertainment Tonight”, Fox News Network, as well as numerous local news segments in NYC.
