Marc Andrew Ward is a minimally invasive surgeon who specializes in benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus and stomach. He is proud to provide a wide range of services for patients 12 and older at the Center for Advanced Surgery, with locations in Dallas, Plano, and Tyler, Texas.
Dr. Ward earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He then completed his internship and residency in general surgery at UChicago Medicine before pursuing a fellowship in minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery at Providence Portland Medical Center in Oregon and L'Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris.
Dr. Ward has traveled all over the world and trained with renowned surgeons such as Lee Swanstrom, MD, and Brice Gayet, MD, who are the pioneers of minimally invasive surgery. He believes in giving patients a better quality of life than they had when they stepped into the office. That means for surgical procedures, he uses minimally invasive surgery to provide patients with a quicker recovery. Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, he is skilled and provides a variety of treatments for benign and malignant conditions of the stomach, esophagus, and areas of the abdomen.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Ward regularly conducts research to improve his knowledge and further patient care on a larger scale. Steven G. Leeds, MD, is a general surgeon at the Center for Advanced Surgery. He sees patients 12 years and older at the practice’s locations in Dallas, Plano, and Tyler, Texas.
Dr. Leeds completed his medical education from the Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies, where he excelled in anatomy and physiology, which drew him toward surgery. He then completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Valleywise Health Medical Center (formerly Maricopa Medical Center) in Phoenix, Arizona. The residency program, which included rotations to several prestigious hospitals, including the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale Healthcare Hospitals, and Providence Portland Medical Center, allowed him to gain valuable experience.
Afterward, he completed a fellowship at Providence Portland Medical Center in Oregon, during which he operated with several renowned surgeons in minimally invasive surgery as well as colorectal and hepatobiliary surgery.

For more than 25 years, surgery has been a way of life for Daniel Morris, DO, of Lonestar Surgical Specialists P.A. He chose Decatur, Texas, as the location for his practice, because he wanted to work in rural America, where he could be part of the community. Dr. Ashley Egan, certified by the American Board of Surgery, practices at Rockwall Surgical Specialists, where she provides the full array of general and bariatric surgery procedures.
