Emily McNerney, PA-C, is a board-certified physician’s assistant at Vascular Surgery Associates, with offices in Chicago Ridge and New Lenox, Illinois. Emily enjoys caring for men and women of all ages in a welcoming, friendly setting.
She graduated from the physician assistant program at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston and has many years of professional experience. Emily maintains her PA-C credential with continuing education, staying up to date on the latest advances in vascular surgery and other blood vessel treatments.
She cares for patients with vascular diseases, including peripheral artery disease (PAD), varicose veins, spider veins, aneurysms, and others, using cutting-edge procedures and techniques. Examples include sclerotherapy, ClosureFast™ radiofrequency vein ablation, VenaSeal™, and vascular surgery.

Mohammad Sarhan, MD, is a highly-skilled, board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon at the Chicago Ridge and New Lenox, Illinois, offices of Vascular Surgery Associates. Dr. Sarhan specializes in the treatment of vein and artery disorders, including carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and stroke.
In addition to performing minimally invasive and open vascular surgeries, Dr. Sarhan serves as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sarhan is also board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Sarhan earned his medical degree from Damascus University (Jāmi‘atu Dimashq) in Damascus, Syria. Through Columbia University, he underwent general surgery training at NYC Health+ Hospital/Harlem in New York City, New York. Dr. Sarhan completed fellowships in vascular surgery at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and critical care through Harvard University at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Sarhan is an active member of the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), and the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society (MVSS). He has been certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation® (RPVI®) by the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement (APCA™).
Martin I. Ellenby, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in vascular and endovascular surgery. At Vascular Surgery Associates, with offices in Chicago Ridge and New Lenox, Illinois, Dr. Ellenby treats disorders of the arteries and veins, including peripheral artery disease (PAD), atherosclerosis, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. He has been practicing in South Chicago for over 25 years.
In addition to performing traditional open vascular surgeries, Dr. Ellenby offers customized surgical plans using minimally invasive hybrid techniques and cutting-edge percutaneous endovascular therapies.
Dr. Ellenby earned his medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He completed his training in general surgery at the University of Illinois’ Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He finished a vascular surgery fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Eugene Tanquilut, DO, FACOS, is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon at Vascular Specialists in Tinley Park, Illinois and Munster, Indiana. Dr. Tanquilut has provided vascular care and surgery in the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago since 2005. His first goal is to understand his patients’ needs and implement an effective and efficient treatment plan aimed at improving their quality of life.
Dr. Tanquilut grew up in Orland Park and is a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign, and his medical degree at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. After medical school, Dr. Tanquilut completed his internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and his surgical residency at St. Barnabas in New York City. He furthered his training with a vascular and endovascular fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
In addition to his board certification, Dr. Tanquilut is certified in hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Lauded for his expertise, Dr. Tanquilut has received various awards over his career, including Most Compassionate Doctor 2013, Vital’s Patients Choice in 2013 and 2014, Vital’s Top 10 Doctors for Vascular Surgery 2014, Trademark Who’s Who Top Doctor Honors Edition 2016, and International Association of Healthcare Professionals Top Doctor 2017. He believes patients have the right to be well-informed about all treatments available, so they can make the best decision as a team.
Dr. Tanquilut’s care stems from a genuine concern for his patients’ well-being, endeavoring to understand each as a unique person, rather than a disease. He enjoys getting to know each patient and developing a strong bond, giving them a comfortable environment to ask questions and feel informed, in an effort to lessen their anxiety before and during a procedure.
