As an expert otolaryngologist, Dr. Richard A. Ruiz treats the full range of diseases and problems that develop in your ear, nose, and throat. Dr. Ruiz received a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he graduated with honors in research. After graduating from UCI, Dr. Ruiz attended medical school at the prestigious Yale University Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut. In his first year, he was elected president of the student council, a position typically held by a fourth-year medical student.

During his time at Yale, Dr. Ruiz continued to publish his work in various medical journals and presented his findings at meetings at various institutions, including Harvard Medical School and the American College of Surgeons, and Yale Surgical Grand Rounds. He spent years doing basic and applied medical research, culminating in his thesis The Treatment of Melanoma with Immunotherapy.

Dr. Ruiz completed a general surgery internship and residency at Yale University Medical Center, then entered a three-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the same facility. While he was a resident, he competed for and won the Temporal Bone Dissection Award, which is given to one resident each year.

In his last year at Yale, Dr. Ruiz served as a lecturer in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. During that time, he developed an expertise in the fields of endoscopic sinus surgery, nasal surgery, ear surgery, head and neck tumors, and reconstruction of cancer defects of the head and neck.

Dr. Ruiz is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Kevin M. Major, MD, FACS, is a board-certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He currently serves the community of Ventura County on the team of providers at Coastal Vascular Center, which has three state-of-the-art clinics in Oxnard, Camarillo, and Simi Valley, California. 

Dr. Major graduated from the University of San Diego in 1992 with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Business Administration. He went on to earn his medical degree in 1998 from the Medical College of Ohio (now known as the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences) in Toledo.

Dr. Major returned to Southern California for his post-graduate training, completing a residency in General Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he also completed additional fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care. He went on to complete fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles.

C. Jon Beecroft, DPM, of Ahwatukee Foot & Ankle Center in Phoenix and Maricopa, Arizona, did a three-year surgical residency and has more than 15 years experience in surgery and medicine. He is qualified to treat orthopedic, dermatological, diabetic, trauma, reconstruction and any medical problems with the foot and ankle.

Dr. Quirk was born and raised in South Korea and immigrated to America as a young teen. After graduating, she spent some time conducting basic scientific research on a therapeutic recombinant proteinase before going to medical school. Joseph Sedrak, MD, FAAD, FACMS, FASDS, is a board-certified dermatologist and board-certified micrographic dermatology surgeon, providing expert skin care services at California Dermatology Physicians in Huntington Beach, California. 

After graduating at the top of his class at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Sedrak completed his general surgery training at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He then went on to finish his intensive dermatology residency at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California.

Dedicated to advancing his training and skill set, Dr. Sedrak pursued a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology with world-renowned Mohs surgeon Abel Torres, MD, JD, MBA, FAAD, FACMS.
