Dr. Douglas Fauser graduated from New York University School of Medicine in 1982. Following graduation, he pursued a two-year general surgery residency at the Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Upon being accepted to the orthopaedic surgery program at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan, he spent four years training there, finishing in June 1988. At the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. Fauser met and worked with his lifelong professional partner, Joel Buchalter. Together, they formed Somers Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Group. Over 30 years later, this group has developed into being the premier orthopaedic surgical group in Northern Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties.
Dr. Fauser is a four-time diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University School of Medicine and is a former team physician of Pace University. He has held privileges at The Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute, Northern Westchester Hospital, and Putnam Hospital Center, where he formerly served as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Institute. David Crane, MD is the founder of Bluetail Medical Group, where he practices sports medicine and regenerative orthopedics.
