Following his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Kupperman completed specialty fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Following residency, Dr. Kupperman completed his specialty fellowship in sports medicine under the world-renowned surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, at the Andrews Institute, where he was awarded the prestigious Herodicus Society North American Travelling Fellowship. This fellowship provided him with extensive and immersive training in operative and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions in professional and collegiate athletes.
He is currently the head team physician for Santa Ynez High School and is one of the team physicians for the Santa Barbara Foresters baseball team and UCSB. Dr. Kupperman stays active by distance running, including completing many marathons. He and his wife, Stephanie, and their young daughter, Audrey, love spending time with their extended family, enjoying the outdoors, and sampling the wonderful variety of activities and food Santa Barbara has to offer.
Timothy O’Brien, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon serving patients at Alpine Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Bozeman, Montana.
Dr. O’Brien moved to Bozeman in 2003 after completing a fellowship at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. During his fellowship, Dr. O’Brien learned advanced techniques in knee surgery, including ACL reconstruction, multi-ligament repair and reconstruction, cartilage restoration procedures, meniscal surgery, and high tibial osteotomy under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Steadman, a pioneer and world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. William Sterett, the head physician for the United States Women’s Ski Team.
He also studied and performed advanced shoulder techniques with Dr. Richard Hawkins, an internationally known shoulder surgeon and founder of the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. During his fellowship, Dr. O’Brien worked with an array of athletes, ranging from high school sports to professionals, including providing medical services for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and US ski teams.
Dr. O’Brien brought many of these techniques to Southwestern Montana. He and his partner, Mark Deibert, MD, brought innovative ideas such as hamstring and cadaver ACL reconstruction to the area, offering less post-operative pain and easier rehabilitation for patients. Julie Barré, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine provider at 360 Orthopedics in Sarasota, Venice, and Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Dr. Barré earned her Bachelor of Science in physical education at Florida State University, before earning her Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from Florida A&M University. She then earned her medical degree at the Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Hughston Clinic.
Dr Barré specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of general orthopedic conditions and injuries. During her time in residency and fellowship, Dr Barré acted as team physician for collegiate basketball teams, high school football teams, and a professional hockey team. She was team physician for Orange Park High School football team and organized community-wide free high school physicals in Jacksonville. She served as Chairperson of Orthopedics and has been on the teaching faculty in Orthopedics for Family Practice residents.
A native of Tallahassee, Dr Barré now resides in Sarasota with her husband and two children. Dr. Page earned his Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Miami University in Florida.
