In addition to internal medicine, Dr. Saadeh has fellowships and additional board certifications in allergy/immunology, rheumatology, and gerontology. Although that may seem an unusual combination of interests, he chose these specialties because they complement one another.
Many arthritic conditions stem from disorders of the autoimmune system, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, polymyositis, and many other conditions. Most conditions treated by an allergist/immunologist also involve the immune system.
