Dr. Persaud’s three-year REI fellowship consisted of 18 months of research followed by another 18 months of clinical experience, predominantly at University Reproductive Associates, where she worked one-on-one with all of the physicians in the group practice to learn about reproductive endocrinology and infertility, assisting with surgeries and observing how they interact with patients.
Dr. Persaud knew she wanted to specialize in obstetrics as she loved the prospect of bringing life into the world. She was drawn to the subspecialty of infertility because it was a way of helping couples become families through the ever-changing technological and medical treatments and procedures.

Peter McGovern, MD, is a double board-certified OB/GYN and co-founder of University Reproductive Associates. He sees patients in Hasbrouck Heights, Hoboken, Wayne, Millburn, and Denville New Jersey, where he specializes in the treatment of recurrent pregnancy loss, in vitro fertilization, polycystic ovary syndrome, microscopic tubal sterilization reversal, and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. McGovern received his bachelor’s degree at Siena College in Loudonville, New York, and his Doctorate of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He remained in NYC to complete his OB/GYN residency at New York University Bellevue Medical Center and then moved to New Jersey to complete his Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility fellowship at New Jersey Medical School University Hospital in Newark.
