Donald Frei, MD, is one of the board-certified neurointerventional surgeons at RIA Neurovascular in Englewood, Colorado.
Dr. Frei earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served his internship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, before continuing his training with a diagnostic radiology residency at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Frei went on to complete rigorous fellowship training in neuroradiology / endovascular surgical neuroradiology at Washington University's Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis. Dr. Frei has also contributed to several articles in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his certification through the American Board of Radiology, he also has a certificate of added qualifications in neuroradiology.
He provides a wide range of neurointerventional services and has specific interest in the endovascular treatment of acute stroke, intracranial aneurysms, and extracranial revascularization techniques. He also offers minimally invasive procedures, including catheter-directed stroke intervention, angioplasty, stent revascularization, and treatments for cerebral aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
