During his residency and fellowship, he rotated through the East Orange and Philadelphia Veterans Administration Hospitals.
Upon the completion of his fellowship, he served as an assistant professor of medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University. Subsequently, he became the director of the ICU at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
