Being a proud daughter of survivors of the Khmer Rouge genocide and also, as a single mother, she is committed to empowering her patients to be able to succeed in all aspects of their lives. Sokhira has obtained her doctorate in nursing to be able to make an even greater impact on her patient’s health and wellbeing.

Dr. Tsappis is a board certified physician with specialty training in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He was raised in a rural area of northern California. After graduating from medical school he moved to Vermont for specialty training in general psychiatry and then to Pennsylvania for his child and adolescent psychiatry training. During his final year of training he served as chief resident for the training program. In addition to his work here at Family Psychiatric Care Dr. Tsappis has been involved in clinical care in the outpatient clinics of two major health systems in the Boston area, consultation to a local specialized preparatory school and integrated care at a large pediatric practice. He has provided invited presentations to local, national and international audiences.

I am Wendy Carlson and I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience.
My nursing philosophy has remained the same over the last 20 years: Every client receives the same level of care equal to what is expected for a member of my own family. Together, we will work as a team to develop a treatment plan achieving positive outcomes based on evidence based practice standards.
I am an outside of the box thinker. When others have given up, I will not. I am currently accepting new clients of all ages seeking initial diagnostic evaluations, and medication management. I look forward to meeting you.
I am licensed in Rhode Island with 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, & parenting issues. Naika is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with ten years of experience providing therapy, treatment, and services to children, youth, and families. Using a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive lens, she has worked with individuals presenting with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ADHD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and personality disorders. As a social worker, Naika has provided treatment in community-based organizations, residential treatment programs, and in the home setting, often working with the underrepresented and underserved. She believes that everyone has a right to emotional wellbeing, and strives to empower others to develop and maintain a sense of self. Naika approaches therapy with attunement, empathy, validation, and active listening to build a rapport and create an environment that is inviting, safe, and supportive.
