I am a compassionate dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner treating patients over lifespan, child, adolescent/teen, adult and geriatric. I like to meet you where you are. Each person has their own unique needs and background and, that is where I start. By using medications and non-med options, my patients have a variety of treatment modalities to choose from.
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that mental healthcare should be provided with understanding of, and respect for the beliefs and values of each individual patient. I have worked in the medical field since 2004 and have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
I decided to pursue a career in mental health due to my personal struggles as a result of life experiences. I get it, life can be quite overwhelming sometimes. It takes a lot of courage to seek help, and since you are here, I applaud you for taking the first step towards keeping hope alive. I am committed to creating a no-judgement zone, while facilitating your healing and ultimately, improving your mental wellness and being.
I focus on the psychological, social and cultural needs of my patients as we work collaboratively to formulate a treatment plan. I value providing empathetic, kind, and culturally sensitive care.
As a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I have spent the entirety of my career as an Nurse Practitioner working in the inpatient and outpatient setting, from treating patients with severe mental disorders to moderate to mild mood disorders. I have a background as a mental health nurse working with mental health patients of all ages since 2017. It was there I found my passion for mental health, hence being able to shed more light on mental health now as an NP.
The key ingredient for effective medication management and brief psychotherapy is the establishment of an alliance, built on trust and mutual respect. With this foundation, we can explore present difficulties, their roots in the past, and manifestations. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to normalcy. I use a full spectrum approach, prioritizing and addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit using psychiatric medication management
