He began practicing inpatient psychiatry at McLaren Bay Region in 2011 and he continues to provide care for patients on the behavioral health unit and also on the medical floor as a part of the consultation liaison service. Dr. Nicholas also assists and supervises in the care of patients at the partial hospitalization program and geriatric psychiatry unit at McLaren Bay Region. He provides leadership as chairperson of the psychiatry department and Medical Director of the of the behavioral health unit. In addition to his other roles, Dr. Nicholas also supervises medical students and residents on their psychiatry rotations as clinical assistant professor of psychiatry through the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University.
