I attended St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse NY and graduated in 1972 as a Registered Nurse. I worked as an RN at a Psychiatric Hospital in Syracuse NY. In 1974 I moved to Long Island NY and worked at Glen Cove Hospital as an RN in an Outpatient Drug Abuse Treatment Center.. I was co-author of a paper titled “The Varied Role of Nurses in an Outpatient Drug Treatment Program."
I graduated from Long Island University with a BS in Nursing in 1978. I taught Psychiatric Nursing at my alma mater St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse NY from 1979 until 1985. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 1993 with an MSN. I have worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Community Mental Health, private practice, and for the last 20 years have worked for the Veterans Administration as an ARNP seeing veterans at the New Port Richey outpatient clinic.

Sharon Krieger has been a pioneer in providing quality traditional and alternative Mental Health Care to the residents of the Tampa Bay Area for 30 years . She has provided Psychopharmacology, Individual and Family Therapy and Alternative Therapies to hundreds of individuals and families of all ages. Sharon is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing . She then attended the South Florida where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing in 1987. She added Family Practice to her career in 1992 at the University of South Florida She also has completed the coursework for an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology. Sharon is the founder and President of Building New Horizons, Inc. and Creating Better Brains, DBA. Her intention is to help all who she comes in contact with to “build new horizons” thru “creating better brains”.
Dr. Gordon has over 20 years of clinical, academic and research experience working with children and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. At the start of her career, she gravitated to working in high risk obstetrics and neonatal health immediately graduating with her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona. Shortly after she attended the University of South Florida and graduated with a Masters in nursing focused in advanced pediatrics and then her PhD with a research focus in infant family mental health. During the COVID pandemic she experienced a rise in child stressors that exacerbated incidences of depression and anxiety within her practice and pursed further training at Johns Hopkins University to advance her knowledge and clinical expertise in psychiatric care. She is currently a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner across the life span.

Dr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science in physics and math from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then went on to work on a doctorate in physics at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The death of his father during the third year of his doctorate program led to the re-evaluation of goals and ultimately to medical school. In 2009, Dr. Smith completed medical school at Ohio University in Athens, where he obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He continued his medical education as an intern at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Before moving on to residency training, research interests led to work on a doctorate in biomedical engineering at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Dr. Smith finished his medical education by doing a residency in neuropsychiatry at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. Dr. Smith is currently the Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Unit and Addiction Recovery Unit at Tampa Community Hospital.
He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Medical Association, and the Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.
