Heather is a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve their best mental health. Heather completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mercer University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Alabama. She is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and holds a Master’s in Pharmacology certification.
With a strong background in clinical and academic settings, Heather specializes in diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), women’s mental health, and eating disorders. She takes an integrative and mindfulness-based approach to support her patients.
I apply an integrative holistic approach to health. I look for a multitude of root causes - spiritual, trauma, nutritional, hormonal, metabolic, etc. These will be addressed as well as recommendations for traditional medications if they are needed. I view my role as being a partner with you on your journey to greater health and quality of life. Your treatment plan will always be tailored to your individual needs and desires. I am trained in precision medicine, integrative psychiatry, accelerated resolution therapy and currently in a year long training for psychedelic therapy.
As a physician, I believe in honesty with my patients, so that they can make an informed decision. This is achieved by educating patients on Depression, and the risks, benefits and alternatives of treatment. I want my patients to feel empowered, because their symptoms leave them feeling powerless.
