Prior to earning her nursing degree, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University and Master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations with a concentration in Human Resources from Cornell University and worked as a Human Resources Manager for an aerospace company.
Nursing is her second career, with most of her experience being in emergency medicine. In the emergency department, she encountered many patients in mental health crises, which led to her pursuing a career as a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She earned her PMHNP degree from Nova Southeastern University.
