Dr. Sajan completed her training in adult psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. This experience exposed Dr. Sajan to state-of-the-art training and a comprehensive care model – the two pillars she used to establish Health & Psychiatry.

Heather is a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve their best mental health. She works with adolescents, young adults, and adults, tailoring her care to meet the unique needs of each stage of life. Heather completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mercer University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Alabama. She is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and holds a Master’s in Pharmacology certification.
With a strong background in clinical and academic settings, Heather specializes in diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), women’s mental health, and eating disorders. She takes an integrative and mindfulness-based approach to support her patients.
I apply an integrative holistic approach to health. I look for a multitude of root causes - spiritual, trauma, nutritional, hormonal, metabolic, etc. These will be addressed as well as recommendations for traditional medications if they are needed. Board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as in general psychiatry, Dr. Sarkis has also earned certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He received his BS degree from City College of New York before attending medical school in France at the Universities of Montpelier and Lille. For his internship and psychiatric residency he chose the University of Florida where he went on to complete a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He continues his association with the University of Florida as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
