I am a dual certified Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My professional nursing career spans over 18 years with a focus on psychiatry, addiction medicine, medical-surgical nursing and oncology. ​In 2003 I completed my Associates of Science in Nursing at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fl. From there, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL in 2006. As I continued my trend of moving South, I completed my Masters of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University in 2009. As a nurse practitioner I have worked with some of the top psychiatrists and addictonologists in South Florida providing me with in-depth training, mentorship, clinical oversight and continued use of up to date evidence based medicine. Dr. Ellen Edgar is the president of Complete Neurological Care, P.C. in New York and Florida. She is an American Board Certified Neurologist who holds double board certification from The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and The American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN).

Dr. Edgar and her professional team help patients (ranging in ages from adolescents to adults) with all types of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Dr. Maja Ilic is an American Board Certified Pediatric Neurologist, Epileptologist, and Neurophysiologist with over 15 year of experience. Dr. Ilic also holds board certifications from The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

She completed her Pediatrics residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY and Neurology training at State University of New York after which she enrolled into a highly competitive combined neurological fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology (NCS/EMG/EP/EEG) at Columbia University New York-Presbyterian Hospital, NYC, one of the best Comprehensive Epilepsy Centers in the country.

She obtained her master’s degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner, her post-master’s certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and her doctorate in nursing at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.

Melissa works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns while utilizing evidence-based treatment methods.

Melissa received her undergraduate degree from Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She then furthered her education, obtaining a master's degree from Walden University before obtaining a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certification. 

Melissa enjoys treating patients from all age groups, with a special interest in helping children and adolescents with attentional and/or behavioral issues and working with older adults. Avonny Bennett received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She obtained her Masters of science degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore as a certified registered nurse anesthetist and her doctorate in nursing  from Barry University. She earned her post-Masters certificate in psychiatric nursing from Herzing University.  Avonnny Bennett also serves as a first reader for doctoral students at Barry University.

Avonny has received training in psychiatry, psychotherapy, and pediatric care. She has 23 years of experience in  general medical issues through her trauma and medical-surgical history. She has training in treating most brain-based illnesses, including mood disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression and attention disorders.  Avonny utilizes evidenced-based treatment strategies to guide each person she cares for.

Dr. Oms is board certified in General Psychiatry and has 13 years of experience in the treatment of mental illness.
