My purpose in life is to guide people to self-empowerment and self-actualization while achieving optimal health and well-being. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with 19 years of nursing experience. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Summa Cum Laude, and her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) Magna Cum Laude. During my career, I have worked in large institutions, patient’s homes, and outpatient settings, most recently at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.
I take pride in caring for individuals of all ages, sexes, races, and socioeconomic groups. I meet people where they are and utilize a holistic person-centered approach to treat psychiatric disorders. I am particularly interested in trauma, substance use disorders, and their ripple effect on friends and families.
I enjoy creating artwork, spending time outdoors, tending to our backyard chickens, playing with the dogs, and spending time with friends and family.

While growing up, Dr. Uyanwune saw untreated mental illness in her community. She learned that the impact of this extends wide, affecting the individual, their family and their community at large.
