William Rawls, MD, MSCR, board-certified urologist and North Carolina native brings academic practice experience to Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of the Apex and Raleigh offices. Dr. Rawls graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston to receive his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Research. He further refined his skills through a general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining Associated Urologists of North Carolina, Dr. Rawls contributed significantly to the academic medical community while practicing at East Carolina University.
With a special focus on minimally invasive surgery, including robotic techniques, Dr. Rawls is passionate about enhancing patient outcomes and minimizing recovery times. He enjoys caring for patients with general urology issues, including benign prostate enlargement, urinary incontinence, local or advanced urological cancer, and kidney stones. His expertise extends to stone prevention, where he emphasizes proactive strategies to help patients manage and prevent urological conditions. Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Rawls prides himself on ensuring that patients and their families are educated and comfortable throughout their healthcare journey. He values one-on-one time with each patient, believing that building trust and understanding is essential for effective treatment. This commitment to cutting-edge, patient-centered care allows him to provide comprehensive solutions tailored to individual needs.
He is a proud member of the American Urological Association and North Carolina Urological Association. Excited to serve the state where he grew up, Dr. Rawls is dedicated to providing high-quality urologic care.
