Renowned Osteopathic Physiatrist William J Cole Jr., DO, has dedicated his medical career to helping people overcome pain and get back to their lives quickly. Dr. Cole completed training at NYU Rusk Institute in 2004, just after a life-threatening motor vehicle accident deprived him of the use of his most valuable asset: his hands. He underwent the first of seven surgeries in 2000, then subsequently had a One-Level Cervical Decompression in 2013 with multiple restorative treatments, resulting in a tremendous reduction in pain and increase in functional abilities. This was in lieu of a debilitating Four-Level Cervical Fusion with hardware and screws as recommended by traditional neurosurgeons that would have ended Dr. Cole's successful career in Conservative and Interventional Pain Medicine.
As a result, Dr. Cole changed his career path from Orthopedic Surgeon to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist, thereafter building a very successful outpatient-based multi-location Orthopedic Medicine group serving thousands of local, regional, national, and international clients with customized treatments of the highest quality care, resulting in exceptional outcomes and positively changed lives.
For the last 10 years, Dr. Cole has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at LECOM/Bradenton, teaching all aspects of Conservative and Interventional Pain Management to build strong community and medical ties to our future classes of physicians, as Dr. Cole believes in giving back to the medical community.
While working with some of the most prominent Orthopedic Surgeons in the US, Dr. Cole has devoted his career to master and perfect the "minimally invasive interventional procedures" to "decrease pain and increase function without narcotics or surgery."

Dr. Cole & Dr. Kola are exceptional in every way a patient hopes their medical providers will be ... if u are a patient or a caregiver of a patient experiencing pain concerns these are the doctors to TRUST bcuz @ every level of interacting w/Dr. Cole & Dr. Kola @ their Venice &/or Sarasota clinic locations or via TeleHealth u will find only the finest of compassionate highly experienced + proficiently communicated & executed pain management care ... after 40years! of being either misdiagnosed &/or over-drugged & typically disrespected by prior pain teams my family has finally found a pain team led by these doctors that is nothing short of the miraculous helps we've been seeking so my husband & I could get back into living! our lives w/Less pains ... Dr. Cole & Dr. Kola & everyone they bring into their clinics to help patients Find Answers & Get! Positive! Results! are the only!! Pain Team we will ever TRUST ... I had a Spondolo that was not surgically correctable, I originally injured my back in Feb. 1997 as an "on the job" injury. I've lived with this hellish pain for 27 1/2 years! I have ingested more pain pills than I want to admit, they didn't help. I have seen many, many Doctors over the last many years, seeking relief, and the best any of them could offer was: "Conservative Therapy". Dr. Coal fixed my back completely and he did it in a single visit! No pain. I am trying to re-learn what its like to be normal! I don't hunch over, slouch or drag my foot. I'm FREE! Very Brilliant Doctor who specializes in Stem Cell Therapy for the Knee. Definitely took time for me (1 Hour) to explain everything. Sometimes a bit too techinal as I didn't really understand everything he was saying. I will decide after second opinion whether I want to go with his suggestion. Well versed in other specialities,too. Very Impressive Credentials in varying fields. I would recommend him to people with fairly serious knee issues. Doesn't want to operate if possible.
Dr. William was fantastic. He spent plenty of time with us discussing how he is going to treat me. I had my first set of injections and it went well. Dr. Lily is wonderful as well, along with the rest of the staff. Thank you!

Excellent! Dr Cole spent as much time with me as I needed more than any other doctor I've ever had. After one visit I'm able to take off my wrist brace that I've worn for a year.

Never called in my medicine. I lost my full time job they knocked me down to 2 days a week because of my Dr William Cole and Florida Blue Insurance. They have been bullshitting me for 2 days still haven't received my meds. Now it's the weekend and I can't work cause of the severe pain I'm in. Now I can't afford to pay my 115 a month because of both of them

Dr Cole was informative, pleasant and personal. It was 10 years since I saw him. He was on top of my problem in minutes. We are now informed of what to expect. Will see him again next week. He gave me exercises to do. Use walking in the pool. Always a great informed doctor.
