About Dr. Truc Nguyen, MD

Truc Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Nguyen is actively involved in Multifocal/Presbyopic and Toric IOLs in advanced sutureless cataract surgery to allow for clear vision with less dependency on glasses after cataract surgery. He also offers micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) such as microstents, canaloplasty, and trabeculotomy to help to control eye pressure and glaucoma. He has extensive experience in various corneal transplant techniques including partial corneal transplants such as DMEK, DSAEK, and DALK as well as anterior segment reconstruction. Dr. Nguyen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, with affiliations at Southern Ocean Medical Center and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Centers. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Nguyen graduated with high honors with a Bachelor of Science from Stony Brook University, NY. He received his medical degree from Upstate Medical University of Syracuse, NY. After completing his Ophthalmology residency at Syracuse where he served as Chief Resident, he completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of Rochester, NY where he also served as a Clinical Instructor. He was in practice in Memphis Tennessee before relocating to New Jersey where he has been serving the South Jersey community since late 2011. Dr. Nguyen joined Southern Shores Eye Center in 2015 after relocating from Atlantic County.
