My plantar fasciitis of right foot has been 21 months. Now I have it starting in left foot. He started me in PT of left foot right away. I already am in therapy for right foot. Dr. Espirtu does not want to do surgery at this pointShow more. I know he has my best interest at heart. Some days I would sign a surgery permit right away. I wear my inserts, ice my feet 2 or 3 times a day and do my stretching as instructed. He told me to keep doing everything I am doing and he has faith that it will go away. Dr. Espirtu fully understands the pain as he has had bilateral PF also.
I had surgery on December 2nd done on my hammer toe on my left foot. My pain levels wasn't too bad after my surgery that I couldn't deal with. I didn't take any of my pain pills. I only took Aleve when I had some pains. Even Show morethough my toe still have a little swelling at times, but it feel so much better! Now I will not be ashamed to wear my sandals. No more ugly toe! I will be a dancing machine at my next social event. I will recommend Dr. Troy Espiritu and his staff to my family and friends. My left foot says thanks!
Troy Espiritu, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon serving patients at Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Espiritu is a native from Louisiana and grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where he graduated from the University of South Alabama. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, graduating with honors.
Dr. Espiritu received several scholarships throughout his academic career, including the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award and the Distinguished Podiatric Writing Award.
After medical school, he completed three years of post-graduate training at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, focusing on all aspects of foot ankle surgery. Dr. Espiritu received training in routine podiatric surgical procedures, advanced reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage procedures, trauma, and arthroscopy.
In 2000, he opened Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Espiritu also provides care at the St. Francis Wound Management Program.
Dr. Espiritu has been very active in the local community providing regular educational seminars. In addition to being certified in foot surgery, he is a Diplomate of the American Board. Other memberships include the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
When he isn't working, Dr. Espiritu enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He's also an avid runner, having completed over 20 marathons and numerous ultra-marathons, including running endurance events up to 100 miles at a time. He also served as the Medical Director for the Soldier Marathon in Columbus, Georgia, in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

The staff was amazing and Dr E was the best he talked to me not me. I understood what was going to happen and why.
