Steven J. Patterson, MD, is an experienced general surgeon practicing at Lakeland Surgical Clinic, PLLC, located in Jackson, Mississippi.
The son of a family practice physician, Dr. Patterson is a native of Clinton, Mississippi, and attended Clinton High School. He completed his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his surgical residency there in 1999.
Recently, Dr. Patterson obtained certification in stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and became a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He has recently been certified in hidden scar breast cancer surgery and completed ASCO Cancer Genetics Program. He specializes in treating an array of conditions affecting the breasts, including mastitis, cysts, benign and cancerous breast lumps, and high-risk patients. His mission is to help alleviate the fears of his patients, and their families, while guiding them through the treatment process.
Dr. Patterson is a Diplomate of The American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Patterson took his time and was very thorough in explaining what to expect from my procedure.
Dr. Patterson is a very good surgeon. I found out last October that I have breast cancer. Since then I have had 2 surgeries with him at the helm, one to reaffirm cancer diagnosis and get some of it removed and another surgery to add a port to my body for future chemotherapy sessions. I had very little pain after each surgery, and would recommend him to anyone needing surgery of any kind.
I Love Dr Patterson. He always listens to me and is concerned about my issues. He will get to the problem and solve it. Great Dr.

Dr. Patterson is one of those special doctors who care about his patients. I love that he takes time to discuss the things that matter to me. He welcomes questions & discussions so that I’m informed with all the information I need. And most of all he prayed over me, such a comfort to know he really cares. I would highly recommend him!
