Stephen Goodman, MD, is an accomplished physician who has been a part of the team at Gastrointestinal Associates of Rockland PC in New City, New York, since 1998.
Dr. Goodman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton in Binghamton, New York, in 1988, where he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his medical degree in 1992 from the New York University School of Medicine.
He pursued postgraduate training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Washington Heights, Manhattan, in New York City, where he completed his internship and residency in 1995, his fellowship in clinical nutrition in 1996, and his fellowship in clinical gastroenterology in 1998. He’s a board-certified diplomate in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
When he’s not treating patients at Gastrointestinal Associates of Rockland, Dr. Goodman is an attending physician at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York, and Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York. He’s also the co-director of the Esophageal Center at Good Samaritan Hospital and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Everyone was very nice and comforting
Dr Goodman is the only reason I would return. Beside having to wait an hour to see him the woman who took my stats kept yawning and having trouble getting all my information. To make matters worse the prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy originally. The staff needs more training.In addition to that all the emails sent require me to participate to give and get information. It is very challenging for me, an 87 year old woman. I still haven’t been able to log in. I will have my son help me so I can get to read the report

I met Dr. Stephen Goodman, M.D. for my colonoscopy consultation on 4/29/24. He was amazingly informative, kind, and gave me great confidence for the procedure ahead. It was apparent that he is an excellent doctor!! Dr. Goodman thoroughly reviewed all of the past health records that I submitted, again adding confidence to my experience ahead. I am already grateful for the medical expertise I will experience on June 6, 2024. The assistant that greeted me, Daria, was nice, observing that I was a bit anxious. It would have been a more peaceful scenario for me if she had waited to take my blood pressure after I got settled, without my purse on my shoulder and my medical folders on my lap. I will say, however, that after the consultation with Dr. Goodman my anxiousness subsided. So, meeting Dr. Goodman and trusting him for my colonoscopy on June 6 is a win-win situation for me. ****Thank you very much, Dr. Goodman!!!!!!!
