Dr. Stephen De Young is a second-generation, board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been with Southwest Orthopedic Group, LLP, in the Sugar Land, Texas, office since 2002.
Dr. De Young received his Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Houston in 1972. He trained locally, completing medical school, a neurology internship and his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr DeYoung is a great Dr. He really cares about his patience and always does my knee injection in the right spot. He has great bedside manner also. He doesn't mind taking his time with you and making sure you understand everything before leaving his office I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr De Young was terrific! He is very informative and took the time one to fully explain my condition in easy to understand terms and analogies. Before he treated me, he explained what he was going to do, how he was going to do it and fully explained what to expect afterwards. I felt very comfortable we with him and was totally at ease when he actually treated me.

At 53 years of age I have seen a few doctors in my lifetime. Doctor De Young is a rare breed. He does 3 things most doctors do not do anymore. 1. Listens to everything you have to say about your health. 2. Explain in detail what is happening to your body or what might be going on. 3. Common sense rational around your treatment, medication and giving practical advice on what steps to take. A true advocate for my well being and not jumping into evasive procedures.
