Board-certified neurologist Simon Fishman, MD, brings more than two decades of experience in neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine to Integrated Neurology Services, serving men and women in and around Alexandria, Falls Church, Lorton, and Reston, Virginia.
Dr. Fishman began his professional pursuits at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine at age 23. Following graduation, he completed an internal medicine internship and a neurology residency. Dr. Fishman also completed a neuromuscular fellowship, all at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He subsequently received additional training in neurological critical care at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
In July 2000, Dr. Fishman established his first private practice in Northern Virginia, with admitting privileges at INOVA Fairfax and Arlington Hospital. Three years later, he founded Integrative Neurology Services, opening the first office in Alexandria, Virginia.
As a neurologist, Dr. Fishman is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM). He’s highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nervous system, including diseases of the brain, nerves, spinal cord, and muscles. Dr. Fishman also specializes in treating movement disorders and the therapeutic use of Botox® and Baclofen.
Aside from working with patients, Dr. Fishman is actively involved in educational and community projects that improve the standard of neurologic care in and around metro Washington, DC. He’s an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University Hospital Center, the Krasnow Institute of Advanced Study at George Mason University, and Virginia Medical College.
Dr. Fishman established the Neurovascular Care Unit and stroke program at Alexandria Hospital and spearheaded efforts to mandate 24-hour neurology coverage at Fairfax Hospital. He also founded the very first comprehensive spasticity management program at Woodbine Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

My husband (the patient) and I had a wonderful visit at the new office in Old Town, Alexandria, Va. PA-C Lam was very kind, courteous, and patiently listened to my husband's neurological issues. She took the time to check my husband's vitals, and conducted a cognitive evaluation for memory loss. She was patient and explained all options. We are very satisfied with PA-C Lam and highly recommend her. The new office is idealy located in a townhouse with easy on-street parking. The staff was very courteous and responsive. I am a new client and visited Dr. Fishman today. I was pleased that he made an initial diagnosis that I can act on, and—to alleviate some of my worries—a few more tests during a follow-up appt will give a more conclusive picture. I like that Dr. Fishman did not instantly decide what is wrong and send me on my way; rather, he listened and is awaiting more data. I will follow his advice meanwhile, and I look forward to my next visit.

initial virtual appointment worked out pretty good. received information online and connection and quality of picture was good. questions during the appointment was straight to the point however a few questions was unsure how in depth to go. was made to feel comfortable that any answer was ok for documentation for case. Was given information about next appointment and the follow up to discuss results. The experience for this appointment was pretty good.

Great visit
I have suffer from chronic migraines. I went to multiple doctors, even the Emergency Room and was brushed off with "oh, you are just suffering from tension headaches." I luckily read online about seeing a neurologist for how I was feeling. All the neurologists I had called had a 6-9 week wait. Thankfully, I started calling offices suggested by my insurance and Dr. Fulton happened to have an opening 4 days later. I was so excited, hopefully I would get some real answers and be listened to rather than shoved off, I thought. Dr. Fulton definitely listened!!! After having some tests and MRI done, we met again. She diagnosed me and we started a treatment plan. After a few methods, we went for botox. I see her quarterly for the injections. We discuss any concerns I may have before the injections. I have been her patient for over 2 years and plan to be for as many years as my condition continues!! I feel extremely confident in her treatment and her ever growing medical knowledge. I always look forward to my appointments with her. She has a great attitude and bed-side manner. Thank you, Dr. Fulton!! :)
