Dr. Vazales is a great podiatrist. My previous board certified podiatrist was the best in the state, and unfortunately he is retiring in 2 weeks. Going to Dr. Vazales’s office after having a serious accident with my feet was the bShow moreest decision I ever made. The office manager got me in right away, His knowledge and explanation of diagnosis and treatment are exceptional. He is extremely easy to talk to, and when you leave the office you feel very happy and completely satisfied.
I went in to see Doctor V to get a shot in my right foot to relieve some discomfort. He is an AWESOME doctor !! Great personality , he always listens , explains everything thoroughly and genuinely cares about all his patients. Dr. Ryan Vazales, DPM, DABFAS, ABFAS, FACFAS, is a double board-certified foot and reconstructive, rear foot, and ankle surgeon at Advanced Foot & Ankle of Virginia in Glen Allen, Virginia. Dr. Vazales earned his medical degree in podiatric medicine and surgery from Barry University College of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. He then completed a 3-year intensive surgical residency at Florida Hospital East Orlando in Orlando, Florida. He served as Chief Resident there and received extensive training in congenital conditions, flatfoot deformity, pediatric clubfoot, arthroscopic surgery, and limb deformity correction, among other topics. After residency, Dr. Vazales completed a fellowship at Chicago Foot and Ankle Deformity Correction Center in Chicago, Illinois, which focused heavily on orthoplastic surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Vazales has earned awards for his research and clinical foot and ankle care. He has published many articles and stays current on the latest developments in his field through professional memberships in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Microsurgical Orthoplastic Society, the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

So far, after my first visit with Dr. V., I felt very comfortable talking to him, asking questions and voicing some concerns. He answered everything with great knowledge and concern. He is very friendly and is eager to help you.

Dr. Vazales and Melanie were incredibly friendly and easy to work with. They saw me right away for an ingrown toe nail. I would highly recommend them.

Dr. Vazales was wonderful. He took time to sit with me and explain different possibilities that could be happening. Prescribed a simple first step of treatment instead of going straight to needing surgery. He was very kind and personable. I will definitely be going back to him when further treatment is needed.

Doctor V was knowledgeable and helped me to better understand and heal from my injury. The office staff was pleasant and the time I had to wait to see him was well worth the care provided. I could not possibly recommend him with more enthusiasm. He's top notch!!!
If I could I’d give Dr. V 10 stars I would. After an orthopedic doc not only failed to improve my hammertoe but left me with continued pain and eventually more issues, I was at a loss. As my pain worsened, I searched for a reputable surgeon who wouldn’t treat me as a number but as a person, and finally found Dr. Vazales. Not only is Dr. V an exceptional surgeon, his bedside manner is bar none. There was no rushing me in and out, no short answers, no feeling like I was an annoyance, as happened with my ortho doc. He spent considerable time explaining my issues, why the previous surgery failed, and provided a conservative treatment plan to start - which I really appreciated - as another surgery wasn’t appealing. Once the conservative approach ran its course with limited success, Dr. V thoroughly explained what my surgery would look like, how long recovery would be, etc. And due to the mismanagement of my 1st surgery, this one would be quite major - but I trusted him and he didn’t let me down. As I write this, I am 43 days post-surgery and thriving! One more week in my CAM boot then it’s off to PT! If you’re having any foot or ankle issues, do yourself and your feet a huge favor and call Dr. Vazales - you’ll be so glad you did.

I have had so much pain in the ball of my L foot and traveled up 3 toes due to Morton’s neuroma which had. Even going on for 5-6 years. Saw another MD, said surgery or live with it. It began to prevent me from riding. Yesterday I had a cortisone injection and today no pain and I tested it out with some long trots and canters. It feels great. Highly recommend Dr.V
