Dr. Owen and nurses are easy to talk to and very informative. The visit would be perfect, but the front desk girls are not helpful at all. They always say they will call back, never do. They never answer the phone after lunch and Show morethey always seem like they have an attitude. Rulon Owen, DO, is a board-certified osteopathic family physician and senior medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration at Las Vegas Family Medicine, located in the Lone Mountain neighborhood of Las Vegas. The seeds of his future success as a physician were sown early on during his days as a student.
Dr. Owen finished high school a full year ahead of his class and was named to the Who’s Who Among American High School students and the Who’s Who Among Rising Young Americans. He attended Utah State University in Logan, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Dr. Owen received a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his postdoctoral training with a rotating internship at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa.
Despite his rigorous studies, Dr. Owen always found time to participate in numerous student groups, including Sigma Sigma Phi, the osteopathic honor fraternity, the student chapter of the American College of General Practitioners in Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, where he served as president and secretary, the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society.
Today when he isn’t busy helping his patients at Las Vegas Family Medicine he enjoys volunteering and spending time with his family.

Dr. Owen has provided fabulous new patient care, I am new to the area and he took the time to get to know me and made me feel that my health care was important to him, he listened to my concerns and shared expert advice, shared his opinion, but ultimately let me make the decision towards the care, I am comfortable and confident in him and his staff providing me with excellent care.
Office staff is horrible, almost impossible to get a hold of

Saw Dr Owens for 1st time today. He has great “bedside manner.” I did not feel rushed. I’ve worked in healthcare for many years but not in this community. I am delighted to have found a provider who is so personable. Will have my husband establish his care there as well

I’ve been seeing my Dr. Owen for the past three years, and I cannot express enough how exceptional each and every experience has been. From the moment I walk in the door, I am met with an extraordinary level of care and attention. Dr. Owen has a way of making each visit personal and comfortable. His expertise and attention to detail shine through in every interaction. Not only am I consistently satisfied with his care, but I also notice how content his other patients are. The smiles and satisfaction on their faces are testaments to his outstanding medical skills and compassion. A huge part of this welcoming atmosphere is the front desk staff. They have been incredibly polite every time I’ve visited, and their warmth and efficiency add to the overall amazing experience. I must specifically mention Kim, Destiny, and Marlin (like the fish) who have always gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs and make me feel at home. Their professionalism and kindness are notable and contribute greatly to the clinic’s positive environment. The whole staff is amazing! In the chaos and lack of good medical care in Las Vegas, this group made me feel comfortable and important. I cannot sing their praises enough! So glad I found them!

Awesome staff, every single one of them. Plus Dr. Owen was even more awesome. I didn’t have to wait weeks for an appt., didn’t have to wait long to get in, and Dr. Owen didn’t rush through my appt. My husband, daughter and her SO will be switching doctors to Dr. Owen soon.

I’m giving Dr Owen 5 starts because he is very pleasant & professional. The front staff is also pleasant and easy to communicate with. However my last visit on 03/29/23 I saw the NP, and she was AWFUL. She had no bedside manners at all, didn’t even make eye contact when entering barely said hi, and when explaining symptoms she would just cut you off, I was explaining some of the symptoms that she asked about when she rudely interrupted me and said “let me just look at the paperwork ok” I thought that was extremely rude. She also filled out my paperwork incorrectly, I’m glad I went over it before leaving. I told the front ladies of how bad I was treated by her and they were very kind and compassionate and let me know they appreciated the feedback and that to let them know for future appointments just request Dr Owen that they would be more than happy to accommodate.

Today's experience was awful. However I saw the NP and the whole visit was totally unprofessional. I will make sure to only book my appointments with Dr. Owen in the future. I wasn't aware that he was out and this was my first experience with this NP.
