Dr. Robert Viere has performed spinal surgery in the Dallas area for more than 20 years. As a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a member of the North American Spine Society, Dr. Viere understands the challenges patients face when confronting neck and back pain.
Dr. Viere has a special interest in complex problems involving the cervical spine and accepts referrals for postoperative spinal problems. His offices combine pain management, state of the art technology, artificial disc replacement, minimally invasive surgery, and treatment for scoliosis.
Dr. Viere is on staff at the Methodist Hospital for Surgery, Medical City Plano Hospital, and Baylor Uptown, with privileges at Texas Scottish Rite. Prior to joining Baylor, Dr. Viere was head of the spine section in the Department of Orthopedics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He has been honored as one of the "Best Doctors in Dallas" from 2004-2020, as well as "Best Doctors in America" from 1994-2011. In addition, Texas Monthly named him a "Texas Super Doctor" for five consecutive years.

Dr. Viere is widely known as one of the best back surgeons in the country. He did my second back surgery and put in screws that should have been done with the first surgery. He is such a kind and compassionate person and I would highly recommend him if you have a back issue. Amelia Douglas

Dr. Viere and his staff have all been super helpful through this process. Spine surgery can be scary. I felt confident in Dr. Viere’s ability and all the doctors surrounding him! They were happy to answer any questions or concerns before and after surgery. A little over 2 weeks out from surgery and I am healing up, and feeling stronger everyday.

I think Dr Viere was courteous and kind. He took time to explain what is going on. The waiting room experience was what makes me rate this 4 star. We were made to wait for 30 minutes even though we were the only patients in the practice when we got there.

This was my initial visit with Dr. Viere. The visit was timely. My issues of concern was addressed and Dr. Viere will do more test to determine what's best to ease my pain.

Dr Viere is a “Gold Metal” surgeon. He has operated on my wife’s back twice, solving two separate problem, with a full recovery on both . He recently operated on my back. I’m currently in rehab and expect a full recovery also
