Renee G. Buchanan, PA-C joined the staff of Favia Primary Care in January 2021. She has over 20 years’ experience as a Certified Physician Assistant since receiving her P.A. degree from Western Michigan University where she graduated Cum Laude.
Renee completed her undergraduate training at the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical and Material Science Engineering. She worked for ALCOA and Union Carbide until 1994, before embarking on her career change to become a Physician Assistant.
Prior to joining Favia Primary Care, Renee worked with Advocate Medical Group as a PA-C with a focus in geriatric medicine in 2019. From 2003-2019 she worked at an Internal Medicine Practice which introduced her to a wide range of medical conditions and served as the foundation of her medical experience. She also worked for three years at Advanced Pain Centers in Hoffman Estates, where she focused on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute and chronic pain related to a wide spectrum of medical illness.
Her current responsibilities as a PA-C include the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of acute medical illnesses, as well as the routine follow-up of chronic medical problems such as asthma, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. She also has a strong interest in educating patients in preventive health care and health maintenance.
Renee has a special interest in post-mastectomy lymphedema, having previously served as the Lymphedema Coordinator/ Director at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Compass Healthcare, respectively.
Her personal interests include sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling and nature hikes.

Timely, professional, caring!
I was referred to Doctor Haydee From Doctor Gonzales and Huntley recently retired and recommended this lady Doctor for me. I was very satisfied with my visit there with Dr. Haydee Manley. I hope to have her as my regular family physician for many years as long as God wills it.
I’m newer to Favia Primary after years of being at the same practice. This is more of what I was looking for. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Dr Cantù-Manley really seems to be listening and respecting where I’m at verses just telling me what to do.
Everyone was relaxed and friendly. The Doctor listened to my questions, and Concerns; and my explanations for What I had done and not done and I got Answers and a route to follow.

I fell off on keeping up with my health. After a long stressful year i saw Dr Cantù after literally disappearing cause of life. She was so welcoming back and kept her self aware of what our previous goals and plans were. Felt like I just picked up from where we left off. She listens to my concerns and strategically creates a plan to get me feeling better. I appreciate her so much and her staff are so kind. Def recommend her 1000%

This was my first appointment with a new primary care. The doc is wonderful. She is kind,smart and thorough. The big three I look for. I am certain she will be a good match and we can collaborate into the future to keep this " on the cusp of Medicare" girl healthy. Her office staff is also top notch. I recommend.
