He had a heart attack during Covid 2021 and had open heart surgery. He was in very critical life threatening condition after his open heart surgery. You call and tell them the problem and he will see you that day you may have to wait but you will be seen, or if it’s v ry serious he may seShow morend you on to the hospital!! He gives you his cell number office number and his home number! Cath lab on premises! 3 other drs are available to help! I was was so glad to have found him!
Pradip J. Morbia, MD, FACC, FCCP, is a cardiovascular disease specialist at Gulf Coast Cardiology Group PLLC in Port Arthur, Texas. Under his leadership, Gulf Coast Cardiology Group has already served more than 100,000 patients in the Mid and South-Jefferson County area. Dr. Morbia is triple board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Internal Medicine and is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Morbia moved to the Port Arthur area from Los Angeles, California, where he had a very busy cardiology practice. Because the traffic in the city did not allow him to reach his patients in a timely manner in an emergency, he decided to move to the smaller city of Port Arthur so that he could provide his patients with the best care available, including emergency care. Prior to being in Los Angeles, he was trained in cardiovascular medicine in the Chicago area at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. He trained for seven years in different areas of medicine, including a rotating internship in various fields of medicine and surgery. He completed three years of internal medicine residency and three years of the cardiovascular medicine fellowship training program.
Dr. Morbia has been practicing as an interventional cardiologist since 1988. Dr. Morbia was brought in to start the open-heart surgery program at Park Place Medical Center, and he performed the first-ever percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (balloon angioplasty of the coronary artery) at Park Place Medical Center.
To date, he has done more than 25,000 cardiovascular cases. Dr. Morbia is the senior-most interventional cardiologist living and practicing in the Mid and South-Jefferson County area. After establishing himself, he rapidly expanded his practice to Christus St. Mary's Hospital, Mid-Jefferson Hospital, and Doctor's Hospital, which is now Renaissance Hospital.
He has been married to his beautiful wife, Jayshree, since 1982, and he has two wonderful sons, Roshan and Ravi. Roshan went to the University of Chicago for his undergraduate degree, majoring in Mathematics and Biology. Since then, he has graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and is set to become a plastic surgeon. Ravi graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and is studying to become a web designer.

Dr. Morbia saved my life in 2018. During the initial assessment, he determined my widow maker artery was almost totally blocked and scheduled immediate surgery. At subsequent follow-up visits, he has been warm and relatable - everything you expect a doctor to be.

I love him. The staff, not so much. I had to sit for over 2 hours waiting for test results. In that time I was listening to the workers talking. There were incomplete medical records, they didn't know why patients were there. They lost track of patients. I'm giving serious thought to finding another Doctor but I'd have to drive to Houston because no one else in the area takes my insurance.
i believe Dr. Morbia has the ability to keep patients as healthy as possible. Dr. Morbia and his staff are well organized and are very easy to deal with from test to meds. Even if you dont have a heart issue Dr. Morbia will go out of his way to help find the problem.
A great Dr that will give you a great examination and tell you like it is. He's also fun to be around especially when my wife is there with me.
Ok but I needed more time with Dr. Mobia to discuss some more things with him and he was very busy as he was still had patients waiting after I got out so how do I get to get a one on one personal conversation with him about my issues without having to worry about him needing to rush off to other patients in the office who are waiting to see him can you schedule a one on one with him
He was great with my daughter and let us know that he would do any an old test necessary to figure out what the issue is for her. My only thought was I wish we would’ve had the EKG looked at before we left the office but I do understand there’s a process and he was great overall.

Gulf coast was the only clinic in the southeast texas area that would take me as cash pay. I called dozens and was turned away. Dr Morbia himself was very personable and friendly while maintaining constant professionalism as well as his staff. I now have blue cross blue shield insurance and can go anywhere I want to be treated but I will be staying with Dr Morbia and Gulf Coast and would recommend them to anyone who ask.
