About Dr. Phillip Bowman, MD, MPH

Phillip J. Bowman, MD, MPH, is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 20 years of private practice experience. He’s the founder and medical director of Bowman Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California, where he provides compassionate and nonjudgmental care to adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Dr. Bowman graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. He went on to study at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he earned a Master of Public Health as well as his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency. He finished his training with a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. He’s certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

In his practice at Bowman Medical Group, Dr. Bowman takes a comprehensive approach that includes educating his patients on their treatment options and working with them as collaborators in their care. He specializes in addiction, eating disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. He uses a number of treatment modalities, including psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and buprenorphine treatment for opioid dependence.

Dr. Bowman treats each of his patients as unique individuals and works with them to develop a personalized treatment plan that gives them the tools to minimize distress, enhance well-being, and improve their quality of life. He looks forward to providing that care to both new and continuing clients.
