Paul T. Wilkes, MD, FACOG, offers expert perinatal care to women in the communities of Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada, at Desert Perinatal Associates. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Pepperdine University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he also performed post-graduate work in obstetrics and gynecology. Throughout his education, he received numerous awards and honors for academics and research.
Dr. Wilkes served as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nevada and as an Instructor/Fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. He has been widely published in respected medical journals and regularly lectures nationally on perinatal topics.
Board-certified with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Dr. Wilkes also serves his community. He’s on the board of directors for two local foundations and donates his time and medical care to the women of Safe Nest and Shade Tree – local domestic violence shelters. He is the father of three and loves writing, CrossFit, and traveling.

Dr. Wilkes is phenomenal and I cannot say enough good things about his wonderful care and wisdom.
Best dr in Las Vegas
Cannot recommend Dr. Wilkes and Desert Perinatal enough. I started going to them at like 6 weeks in my 2nd pregnancy, due to my first having lots of complications and an extremely premature delivery, so my 2nd was very high risk and I needed to shift to an MFM. The difference between my first experience and this one is completely night and day. Dr. Wilkes treats me like an actual human being. He listens to my concerns and worries and never makes me feel ridiculous for any of them. He always takes my questions seriously. If you call in and have a question, the office or a nurse calls back within the day. They call me back with test results. They EXPLAIN why they are doing certain tests, or why they would recommend I do a test or screening. I have pretty bad white coat syndrome, and this office is healing me with how compassionate and caring they are. Is there sometimes wait time? Of course. You can’t expect to get full attention and not be rushed in your appts- without understanding that’s going to cause delays sometimes. I got 3 opinions before conceiving and Dr. Wilkes gave me the most hope and confidence for this pregnancy, and I can’t tell you how valuable that has been.

Best doctor
Wonderful prenatal care and delivery. Dr. Wilkes really listens to his patients and shows concern and validation like you’re the only patient he has for the day. Their entire team are experts at what they do and show a level of care that is not often seen in Southern Nevada.
Dr Wilkes is the best! Everyone loves this charismatic doctor and I personally do! He listened to our concerns and respected our preferences during my pregnancy until post partum. He is never pushy. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Wilkes is amazing he’s knowledgeable, tells you like it is does not sugar coat anything but also makes you feel comfortable. I was going to be sad if I was not going to have him there for my 2nd baby we recommend him truly! His staff is amazing always has a smile on their face which helps a lot and they’re helpful as well. Cleanliness in all around their offices and rooms and updated equipment technology!

Dr. Wilkes is the best doctor I’ve ever encountered. He’s kind, compassionate, and extremely intelligent. His bedside manner is a breath of fresh air. I am moving cross country mid pregnancy and having to leave him is the hardest part of the move. He made my pregnancy and healthy baby possible.
My anxiety has been so much better since seeing Dr Wilkes at Desert Perinatal. All of the staff is great. I know my baby and I are in good hands there.
