Nidha Mattappally, MD, is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) specialist, providing highly specialized surgical care to women in Woburn, Massachusetts. Dr. Mattappally brings her superior skills and experience to New England Women’s Healthcare, uplifting Wilmington’s women and their health.
Dr. Mattappally grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and later attended the University of Chicago. Here, she received her Bachelor of Arts as a double major in biological science and economics. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, where she received her medical degree.
Dr. Mattappally moved to Worcester, Massachusetts, for her residency at the University of Massachusetts. She became the administrative chief resident, gaining valuable insight and expertise to round out her clinical experience. She continued her training with a fellowship at BI Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Following her training, Dr. Mattappally developed many clinical interests, such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and contraceptive counseling. She continues to learn and expand women’s health services as a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and Massachusetts Medical Society.
When not empowering women in health care with evidence-based medicine, Dr. Mattappally enjoys spending time with her husband and dog. She also enjoys skiing, hiking, and horseback riding.

All staff were very in tune with my needs and gave me excellent explanations on everything during the entire process. I felt very comfortable with all of the staff members, and everyone was very friendly to me. I appreciated that the doctor followed up after the appointment to give me additional information as well.
Dr. Mattappally was professional, sincere, and patient. She took her time with me, made sure my questions were answered and provided resources. I am a new patient and am very pleased with this practice. The office staff is also organized, professional, and helpful.
Great experience
I don't think its a personal review for the Dr. or it could be the issue of how medical system is set up, I am not sure. But, its frustrating. When you are pregnant, especially if its your 1st time, you do expect certain guidance and conversations around what to expect. It feels like we always go in and the only conversation we have with the doctor is if we have any question. "Do you have any question for me?". Feels like the goal is to wrap up the appointment as soon as possible. Ideal expectation is to ask how we are feeling, things to expect, some guidance. If I don't have a question, then technically the consulation is a waste because there's nothing to speak about. As a women, who is pregnant for 1st time, you do expect some information from experts without asking. If reports are out, regardless of what of the outcome is, you do expect someone to call. They simply put it on their dashboard. What am I supposed to make out of it? Can someone not call and explain what half these terms are supposed to mean!!!
