Welcome! I am Dr. Mohammad S Shukairy, MD, a board-certified, minimally invasive spine surgeon in Highland and Merrillville, Indiana. I’ve been practicing for more than 10 years, providing superior, minimally invasive spine surgeries to adults of all ages. I speak English, Spanish, French, Yiddish, and Arabic.
I received my medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio, and completed a residency and internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. I also completed a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
I treat patients with neck pain, back pain, disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and other spinal conditions that cause deterioration, immobility, and pain. I specialize in minimally invasive and outpatient spine surgery, including non-fusion spinal surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, disc replacement, and generalized spine care.

The doctor explained to me the procedure before and after the surgery. He checked on me every morning before discharged, always ending with “ do you have any questions or concerns”.

Waited forever (well over an hour past appointment) so was expecting a very bad experience but once the doctor finally came in , it was a very good experience. He was thorough, patient, answered all my questions and helped me put together a treatment plan. Wasn't too happy with the wait time which i found unnecessary and unprofessional, but the interaction with Dr. Shukairy was above par.
Received the information and guidance I expected based upon surgery received years ago. Great to see the Dr again.
