Mohammad Sarhan, MD, is a highly-skilled, board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon at the Chicago Ridge and New Lenox, Illinois, offices of Vascular Surgery Associates. Dr. Sarhan specializes in the treatment of vein and artery disorders, including carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and stroke.
In addition to performing minimally invasive and open vascular surgeries, Dr. Sarhan serves as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sarhan is also board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Sarhan earned his medical degree from Damascus University (Jāmi‘atu Dimashq) in Damascus, Syria. Through Columbia University, he underwent general surgery training at NYC Health+ Hospital/Harlem in New York City, New York. Dr. Sarhan completed fellowships in vascular surgery at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and critical care through Harvard University at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Sarhan is an active member of the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), and the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society (MVSS). He has been certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation® (RPVI®) by the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement (APCA™).

Dr. Sarhan was very knowledgeable and thorough with my visit. He provided plenty of information about my condition and had a very reassuring attitude regarding future procedures. He took the time to show me the actual CAT scan and explained what was discovered. The appointment was on time and the office staff went above and beyond to get all of my records for review prior to the appointment. If going to a new doctor causes anxiety, Dr Sarhan will be a calming effect with his expertise and compassionate manner.
