Yet another exceptional annual appointment with Austin's best urologist, Dr. Michael Trotter and his assistant, Shay. I've posted before about my move from Dallas to Austin a couple of years ago and subsequent quest to find the bShow moreest replacements for my excellent decades-long Dallas physicians, and Dr. Trotter has exceeded all my expectations. If you're looking for a conservative urologist who is knowledgeable and experienced with the latest state-of-the-art technology, practice, treatments and clinical trials, Dr. Trotter is my highest recommendation!

At Midtown Urology Associates in Austin, Texas, Dr. Michael Trotter strives to improve the lives of every patient in his care through his specialization in vasectomies, male infertility, prostate health, erectile dysfunction, urinary tract infections, and male and female incontinence.
As a proud lifelong resident of Austin, Dr. Trotter began his education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
He expanded his skills and experience through a residency in urology at the University of New Mexico, before returning to Austin and opening Midtown Urology Associates in 2005.
Dr. Trotter is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
When not at work, Dr. Trotter can be found spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dogs. He enjoys the outdoors, and pursues hunting, fishing, and playing golf, among other activities.
The biggest reason I chose urology is that you go to medical school and do all of these rotations. The ones I kept enjoying the most and had the most fun seemed to be the urologists. There are very few specialties that allow you to follow patients throughout their entire life; kidney stones, for instance, is a life-long disease. So you establish relationships with these patients. You get a unique combination of patient relationships and continue to do surgical-related procedures. It makes it unique compared to a lot of other medical fields. I treat patients the same way I want to be treated. It goes a long way with the empathy you portray. Empathy is difficult for people to know how to express when you haven't gone through it yourself. That is a huge part of how we manage our practice.

Dr.Trotter is kind , patient, and thorough.
Dr. Trotter is low-key, efficient, courteous, talented, and an overall excellent health care provider. The same goes for his clinical staff. The office is inviting, clean, open, well-lit, and generally speaking well thought out and executed for patients who might understandably be nervous about our diagnosis and procedural interventions. Five stars for sure, more if they were allowed.

I have been a patient for years, and always feel good about the visits
Dr Trotter checked out my entire medical history and based on that discussed with me the appropriate course of action. He ordered MRI and then on our next meeting, having studied the findings, told me what the situation was. Then he did a cystoscopic exam of my bladder and let me also see all the inner bladder surface, while he explained what I was seeing. I am very satisfied that I received excellent medical care. He has a pleasant way of interacting with patients so that we had very good communication. The supporting staff very friendly and helpful. The medical assistants who prepped me for the procedure were very well trained and experienced and a credit to the team headed by Dr Trotter. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Trotter to any of my friends seeking help with urological problems.

Great. No long wait. Provided test results in one day. Doctor speaks at my level of intellect.. Great results from numerous problems developing over last 30 years including successful treatment of prostate cancer. Psa presently so low can't numerically define. Thanks doc.

Dr. Trotter and his team were exemplary in communication and execution of everything before, during, and after the procedure. Made everything as easy as possible for me, to the point where I was surprised at how little I had to do considering other practices I've engaged with. Highly recommend!
