I’ve been going to Dr. Miller-Thrasher for a long time now. Every one in the office are always friendly and professional. She saved my life when my hormones were unbalanced. I never knew about Hormonal Therapy and other OBGYN’s dShow moreidn’t know either. I was referred to her I pray she will continue doing this treatment. She is the best!

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Melinda Miller-Thrasher, MD, has over 25 years of experience in her field. She proudly serves patients at Innovative Women's HealthCare Solutions in Smyrna and Atlanta, Georgia. Her practice has grown to include The Fibroid and Reproductive Care Center, Innovative Diagnostics, Innovative Surgical Arts, and Innovative Concierge Services.
Dr. Miller-Thrasher was born and raised in Harlem and is one of seven brothers and sisters. She credits her mother, her grandmother, and the Lord for her perseverance, and her older brothers’ guidance in her decision to pursue medicine. She chose to pursue OB/GYN so she could have an early impact on young women’s health and a life-long impact on the children they bear.
She studied at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, graduating with a major in biology and a minor in nutritional sciences before completing her residency training at New York University. She was recruited to join the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, as an assistant professor, where she taught and trained students and residents. Although no longer a full-time faculty member, she continues her passion for teaching by mentoring pre-med students, as well as Emory University School of Medicine medical students and residents. She is active in Atlanta Medical Association, PAUSE program, and Morehouse and Spelman pre-health programs.
Dr. Miller-Thrasher was competitively selected to receive advanced training in a one-year clinical fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery at the nationally-acclaimed and busiest cosmetic surgery practice in the country, Southern Surgical Arts. During her fellowship training, she focused specifically on all aspects of general cosmetic surgery and aesthetic procedures of the face, body, and breast. She assisted in the care of thousands of women and took part in more than 1,000 cosmetic surgical procedures of the face, neck, breast, and body.
Her years of gynecologic surgery experience, along with her cutting-edge formal clinical fellowship training in cosmetic surgery and award-winning bedside manner, make her uniquely qualified to artfully transform her patients into a more beautiful version of their natural selves.
Her inclusion in Essence magazine’s feature on “Gynecologists You Love,” as well as being a Patient’s Choice Award recipient, serves as an abbreviated testament to the care she provides. Dr. Miller-Thrasher has been recognized by her colleagues as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors in Atlanta Magazine each year since 2009.
Over the years, Dr. Miller-Thrasher has aspired to reach new personal milestones involving her love of physical fitness and long-distance running. She considers running the New York City Marathon one of her greatest achievements. She brings this emphasis on nutrition and fitness to her practice, along with her medical knowledge to motivate, educate, and empower women.
Dr. Miller-Thrasher is on staff at Piedmont Hospital and Emory University Hospital, where she serves as a clinical instructor of obstetrics and gynecology. She is happily married and the mother of five children.

I have been a patient of Dr. Miller-Thrasher for a few years now. I have always had a great and pleasant experience at the office. The doctors, nurses, techs, and front office staff all treat me with respect, kindness and care. They make you feel like what's important to you is important to them. They are willing to answer any and all concerns/questions I have regarding my care. I love going to a medical facility where the employees look like me, and are skillfully efficient and proficient in their craft. I recommend IWHCS to any woman.

Sometimes when a procedure becomes routine to a Physician, they rushed through the explanation and expectations of that procedure, but Dr. Thrasher sat down beside me and explained the procedure, her expected outcome. Now we say, this is Part of their jobs, But believe it or not, I have had so many physicians not care on this level. So I appreciate you, Doctor Thrasher for taking the time to ensure I was comfortable and understood the procedure that is to come.

I really like the staff they are friendly & accommodating once you get in for your appointment. The PA Vanessa is a jewel, KEEP HER! The wait time however is a sever issue. I understand the complexity of care that is required for the surgical procedures that are being performed for cosmetic surgery BUT our time is just as important & valuable as the care given outside of those cosmetic surgeries. No one should have to wait hours past their appointment time to be seen.
