About Dr. Mary Mendelsohn, MD

Board Certified ophthalmologist and medical retina specialist Mary Mendelsohn, MD, FAAO, offers the best in general and specialty eye care for patients of all ages at Woodcliff Lake Ophthalmology, LLP. Dr. Mendelsohn provides comprehensive eye exams, dry eye treatment, diabetic eye disease care, macular degeneration treatment, glaucoma care, and non surgical, comfortable, skin tightening TempSure treatments for patients at her Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey office. 

With specialties in medical retina and ophthalmic oncology, Dr. Mendelsohn can help with complex eye care problems. She loves all aspects of eye care, and particularly enjoys helping children and adults with comprehensive eye exams, contact lenses, glasses, and blurred vision or vision loss. 

Dr. Mendelsohn earned her Bachelors of Science degree at Yale University. She earned her Medical Doctor  degree at the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine, now known as the Renaissance School of Medicine. Dr. Mendelsohn completed her ophthalmology surgical residency and her  fellowship specializing in medical retina at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan. She did a second fellowship specializing in ophthalmic oncology at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center in New York City. 

Dr. Mendelsohn is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. She’s a published author with many articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has lectured at national ophthalmology conferences. Dr. Mendelsohn received the Louis and Rachel Rudin Foundation grant, and the David Warfield Fellowship grant in recognition of her outstanding contributions in the field of ophthalmology. 

In her free time, Dr. Mendelsohn believes in giving back to community groups. She regularly coordinates presentations for seniors groups and low-vision groups, and has also presented at Girl Scouts career night.
