Maria Hoffman-Guardia, MD, is one of the skilled and compassionate pediatricians at Pediatric Associates At Ridge. Dr. Hoffman-Guardia sees patients and their families at the office in Mcallen, Texas. She strives to offer the highest standards of care to everyone she treats.
Dr. Hoffman-Guardia received her medical degree from the University of Panama School of Medicine. She went on to complete her pediatric residency and a one-year training in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Moving from Central America to the United States enabled Dr. Hoffman-Guardia to become a fluent bilingual speaker of both English and Spanish. She is an active fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified in pediatrics.
Dr. Hoffman-Guardia has been part of the Rio Grande Valley community for over 20 years. She is passionate about education and healthy lifestyle modifications. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis.

Ive know Dr hoffman about 24 yrs and she is still the same energetic and lovable Dr. All my doubts she has helped me so much. My kids love her.
I’ve never had a problem with them not paying attention to my concerns , since day one I went in with my child I loved it and have recommended it to my family members , they love it as well !
She is the best pediatrician any new parents would love to have. Her compassion for babies through young adults has been an excellent example of her kindness.

She’s the best my son is now 7 and he’s been going since newborn and he’s always loved her. He’s excited to see Dr Hoffman everytime. I now have a 4month old babygirl and she smiles big every visit when she sees her. I recommend her to all my friends and family!
