About Lynne Trauntvein, NP

Lynne J. Trauntvein is a family nurse practitioner and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Idaho State University in 2005. As a registered nurse, she worked at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and then Eastern Idaho Public Health for eight years. Her experience as an RN includes reproductive health, family planning, infectious diseases, and immunizations. She was the EIPH Immunization Program Coordinator for five years while pursuing her advanced degree.

Lynne received her master’s degree in nursing from ISU in 2012 and she is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Lynne enjoys working with individuals and families to promote healthy lifestyle habits, to detect disease, and to treat underlying problems that detract from living life to the fullest. Since 2012, her work experience includes treatment of thyroid disease, insulin resistance, diabetes, infectious diseases, and mental illness. She is a proponent of preventive medicine including immunizations, healthy lifestyle choices, mental wellness, and natural treatment of underlying problems. She enjoys learning about how the human body functions and promoting healthy, evidence-based treatments to help her patients feel their best.

Lynne grew up in Providence, a small town in northern Utah. She attended Sky View High School where she was involved as a violinist in the orchestra and as a member of the color guard for the marching band. She married Don Trauntvein in 1983 and they moved to Idaho Falls in 1987 when Don started teaching at Bonneville High School. She worked as an administrative assistant and owned a daycare before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. Lynne and Don have four children, Sarah, Haley, Spencer, and Victoria. Lynne loves music, cooking, gardening, fishing, animals, and spending time with her family. Members of Lynne’s family were affected by cancer, thyroid disease, autoimmune disease, and immunodeficiencies giving her a better understanding of these diseases and treatments. These experiences also gave her empathy for how illness touches families emotionally and physically.
