I consulted with Dr Gause on January 10, 2025 which also happened to be my birthday. I was a tourist visiting New York and I was in serious pain as my implant was loose and my gum was hurting. Dr Lee Gause was amazing and providedShow more me an appointment within a short notice. The staff of the clinic was incredible from the receptionist who was welcoming and made me and my daughter feel welcome. Dr Lee Gause expertly dealt with my problem and removed the implant and worked on the problematic area with such expertise. Smile Design Manhattan founder Lee Gause, DDS, has established himself as a clinical leader in cosmetic dentistry techniques, a level of expertise he brings to the Midtown West practice in New York City.
Dr. Gause began his professional education as an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, graduating in 1998 with a bachelor of science in biology.
Inspired to pursue a career in dentistry after earning his undergraduate degree, Dr. Gause enrolled at the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, where he earned his doctor of dental surgery in 2004.
A year later, Dr. Gause relocated to New York and founded Smile Design Manhattan. Over the next decade, Dr. Gause worked incredibly hard, honing his craft in cosmetic dentistry techniques such as porcelain veneers, Invisalign®, and dental implants.
Dr. Gause’s years of experience, attention to detail, and approachable, friendly demeanor have helped him establish a boutique family of patients including celebrities and professional athletes.
When Dr. Gause isn’t spending time with patients, you can find him dedicating his time and energy to Smile Design Gallery, a charity he founded that uses art sales to fund dental care for low-income children and seniors, as well as men and women who are being rehabilitated from homelessness.
On a personal level, Dr. Gause enjoys contemporary visual art, physical fitness, and helping develop public dental health systems in emerging nations. Professionally, Dr. Gause is a fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologists.

I have been receiving treatments with Dr. Lee Gause for about a year. He’s very patient and friendly. I’m well informed with all plans an procedures. I highly recommend him and his practice. All of the staff are courteous and helpful.
Dr. Gause, his practice, and procedures are awesome! Dr. Gause and his staff are extremely professional and thorough in caring for patients. He and his staff provide detailed information about dental x-rays and dental surgical procedures to patients beforehand. I love this state-of-the-art dental practice!

Literally fifteen seconds in the chair. I had a toothbrush bristle stuck between a bridge and my gums. Not too painful but seriously irritating. Dr Gause had me come in today even though they were booked solid because “ we need to take care of that now. There’s no reason for you to be uncomfortable”. It’s taken me longer to write this review than it took to be treated! Best dentist and associates ever!
