Dr. Lawrence Ward, DPM?
Dr. Ward has been with Orthopedic Associates since the summer of 2006, he was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. From the time he was a young teenager working with his father, he wanted to work in the medical field and realized he had a talent working with his hands. He worked with his father as a carpenter, which prepared him well for the manual dexterity required to perform difficult surgical procedures.
Dr. Ward began his professional pursuits at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Radiological Sciences. He then worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for two years before pursuing a career in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Following graduation, he moved to San Francisco, California, and attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine. During this time, he obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a 3-year residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Ward is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New Mexico Podiatric Medical Association.
When he isn’t working with patients or augmenting his professional skills through continuing education, Dr. Ward enjoys spending time with his family. He has 5 children between the ages of 13 and 25 and a lovely wife who is an avid runner. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, camping, hunting, woodworking, and automobile restoration.
Dr. Ward is happy to see any foot and ankle ailment from the simple toenail/skin issues to ankle replacement surgery or complex revision surgery. Conservative treatment for foot and ankle issues is always emphasized first if appropriate. Many foot and ankle problems can be addressed with conservative measures without surgical intervention or minimally invasive surgical techniques.
