If you want all around excellence you should be going to the Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine! From the time you walk in the door until the time you leave everyone is compassionate , caring and helpful! Dr. Kacmar and SShow morehannon have managed to create a professional and caring environment that can not be beat! The office staff is amazing! They are top notch professionals and always friendly and helpful! Dr. Kacmar has saved lives of my closest family members. He will not stop until he has found a solution! He does not let anyone interfere with what his patient needs! He could not accomplish such excellence without the help of Shannon , who as a nurse practitioner has given me absolute excellent care and runs everything in that office , with the help of Rachael, Vanessa and Michelle. I have been going to Dr Kacmar for 28 years!
The staff were great. They saw me for the first time for an emergent appointment. The Doctor listened to my concerns, took his time, and showed compassion. He prescribed a different course of treatment than what I was on from an UShow morergent Care center and in less than 24 hours, I'm already feeling better. He told me if I'm not feeling significantly better im 3 days to call back so I don't go into weekend feeling like this.
Dr. Lawrence Kacmar, MD
Dr. Kacmar is an independent family physician who is board-certified in both primary care and sports medicine. A former collegiate football athlete and active adult, Dr. Kacmar recognizes the value of preventing and treating sports injuries from the young school age athlete through the aging adult. With a focus in primary care, Dr. Kacmar is able to care for all ages from routine medical care, preventative exam or acute care needs. Dr. Kacmar remains an admitting physician at Edward Hospital.
Dr. Kacmar's practice interests include orthopedic injuries, critical illness, acute illnesses, acute injury, and patients who are chronically ill seeking a diagnosis. Dr. Kacmar's years of experience and dedication to the continued study of medicine have allowed him to have a holistic approach and updated knowledge of evidence-based working practice.
Dr. Kacmar attended Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. His fellowship in sports medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He has remained Medical Director for The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine since 2002. He continues to remain committed to future physicians as a preceptor for Loyola University.
Shannon Keith, FNP-C, RN-MSN, MHA
Shannon Keith joined The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine in 2011. Shannon has maintained an interest in a holistic approach to family medicine, sports medicine and athletics. Shannon's practice interests include pediatrics, athlete functional training, weight management, preventative medicine, diabetes and inflammatory disorders for all gender and ages, as well as, perimenopause and menopause women related health conditions. Shannon believes in a holistic approach to medicine and utilizing nutrition, exercise and supplements alone or in combination with pharmaceuticals.
Shannon holds a Baccalaureate and Master of Science in Health Care Administration degrees from Grand Canyon University, Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University, Family Nurse Practitioner post masters certification from Olivet Nazarene University and board certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She continues to support education and the development of future nurses as an adjunct professor at Aurora University and Loyola University and preceptor for future nurse practitioners.

I had an allergic reaction to medication and his staff fit me into his schedule on a very busy day and everyone together diagnosed and treated me. They are all superb.
Always a great visit. Dr Kacmar is extremely knowledgeable and is a superior doctor. His staff is great and the office environment is comfortable and welcoming . Dr Kacmar has always solved our medical issues and if and a few occasions when he needed to provide a doctor’s referral for a specific medical condition, we have found that his referrals have always been great doctors.

Dr Kacmar is professional and respects the patient. If we had been at this practice sooner my son would not have had to go through a needless surgery for something found and remedied a much less invasive way. I can’t say enough about Dr Kacmar, his PA and how they practice medicine.

Dr Kacmar is fantastic!! He has helped me through many years of back pain until I finally was ready to do surgery. He has reassured me when I was at my sickest that I would be good again.
