Kristin Burns, CNM received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Illinois State University – Mennonite College of Nursing in Bloomington, Illinois. She has more than ten years of experience in L&D as a Registered Nurse at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Kristin was cross-trained to Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and Level 1 Nursery. She was an active member of the Obstetrics Interdisciplinary team and was voted “Nurse of the Year” by the University of Illinois Chicago- family medicine residents. Kristin worked as a nurse for years with many of the Peoria area OB-GYN providers and through this collaboration, it fueled her decision to follow her dreams of continuing her education as an Advanced Practice Provider. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing-Midwifery degree through the University of Illinois at Chicago – Peoria regional program.
Kristin is a current member of American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) and is certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). She also precepts many APN students through various universities.
Further, she has an active certification in Sculpsure Fat Lipolysis Laser and Pelleve Radiofrequency Wrinkle Reduction Treatment systems through Cynosure and is available for consultation and treatment at Teverbaugh Croland & Mueller OB-GYN & Associates.
Kristin lives in Tremont with her two children (Chloe & Beckham) and her Yorkie (Bitsey). She loves all four seasons in Illinois and enjoys being outdoors. She has a close-knit family and thoroughly enjoys her time with them.

Kristin is the best! She delivered my first baby and I’m praying she will deliver my second as well! She makes you feel comfortable, she will answer any questions you have and is just the sweetest person.

Kristin is such a caring, supportive provider. She was really encouraging when I gave birth and really helped keep me motivated. She walked me through what I needed to do to help get the baby out, and even came up with a creative way to help me move her down. She checked on me often in the hospital and was always so kind. I wish she would’ve delivered my first baby!

She delivered my now 5 month old child and was wonderful throughout the whole experience. Every time I have a visit with her, she really cares about my well being as a whole.

Very knowledgeable about pregnancy after gastric bypass and even got me set up early with extra monitoring from fetal specialists to avoid complications in future. Very glad I picked her.
