Always a pleasant visit with Dr Youngren and staff. Saw me following a recent ER visit for a kidney stone. Hospitalist was fine but wanted to follow up with Dr. Youngren since he knows my history. Got an appointment quickly and Show moreall aspects of my visit were accommodating. Staff is friendly and professional and Dr. Youngren takes time to get the full picture of my whole health. About Advanced Urology
Kjell Youngren, MD, brings nearly 20 years of urology experience to Advanced Urology in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. In addition to general urology, he is skilled in treating chronic pelvic pain, overactive bladder, kidney stones, incontinence, and urologic cancers. He frequently performs painless, in-office, no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren graduated Bowdoin College summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French. He also trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Youngren interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
Dr. Youngren is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association. He loves the challenges of community clinical practice and enjoys solving complex problems. His goal is to give relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, Dr. Youngren was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness. When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches. In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.

Dr. Youngren is such a great physician. He always greets you with a smile and a handshake. He also takes his time with his patients and explains everything in terms of test results, etc., and he answers all your questions. He really cares.

Excellent Doctor. Down to earth, engaging and extremely knowledgeable is my impression of Dr. Youngren. He helped me when another Doctor had no answers. Office personnel are always helpful, kind, and respectful.
I had my one week follow up post robotic surgery to remove prostate. Dr. Youngren removed my Foley catheter and asked several questions regarding my post surgery recovery. He was thorough and answered all my Qs. I was very happy with the visit.
The appointment went well. The staff was prompt and professional. Dr Youngren was very professional and discussed the outcome of the various tests performed by the technician. My questions were answered in a very understandable manner.

Everything was fine
After almost ten years as Dr. Youngren's patient, I can honestly say he is an exceptional physician and skilled surgeon. He patiently listens and offers practical solutions tailored to his patient's individual needs. At almost 82 I credit Dr. Youngren for my longevity in his management of some very serious health issues.
